‘Cinco de Mayo’ – Embrace & Entertain
Celebration Austin’s largest free Cinco de Mayo family festival at the Travis County Expo Center
Austin, TX -- Austin’s largest “free” Cinco de Mayo Family festival will take place on Sunday (Family Day), May 8th at the Travis County Expo Center. The day long celebration will feature live music, games and activities for the entire family, authentic Mexican food, and the sounds and sights of Mexico. Over 40,000 people are expected to attend this year’s event. This annual Austin Hispanic event is produced and sponsored by UNIVISION Radio.
Beginning at Noon, festival-goers can participate in a variety of family-friendly activities:
Children’s Activity Center – sponsored by McDonald’s, children attending the celebration can find a variety of activities including face painting, carnival rides and games, petting zoo, pony rides, moonwalks and much more!
Texas Parks and Wildlife will provide numerous outdoor activities including Archery, fishing demonstrations and rock climbing.
Authentic foods from Mexico
Mexican Regional music – live performances by top national artists will carry throughout the event, including Los Reyes de Camino, The Queen of Grupero Music… Ana Barbara, DJ Kane, Solido, Juan Tavares and our headliner…El Poder del Norte.
Last year’s inaugural celebration drew over 30,000 Hispanics from all over the State of Texas.
