Tu Casa y Tu Dinero: Making the American Dream Reality

Chicago, IL -- When it comes to attitudes towards banking, savings, investing, credit and home ownership, Hispanics have a wide range of attitudes. Their point of view depends on the country they come from and at what stage of evolution in financial matters they happen to be at. For this reason, Univision Radio’s Que Buena 105.1FM, VIVA 93.5/103.1FM, Pasion 106.7FM and La Tremenda 1200AM are hosting the fourth annual financial and home fair “Tu Casa y Tu Dinero,” a one-day, indoor event on Sunday, March 13th at the UIC Pavilion from 12:00p.m. – 6:00p.m.

“Tu Casa y Tu Dinero” will feature workshops covering a variety of topics from the basics of banking to investing in the stock market, an exhibition and sampling area, and prominent personalities such as financial expert, author, television personality and host of the national Spanish-language financial program “Tu Dinero con Julie Stav,” Julie Stav; international television actor, writer, producer and author Roberto Gomez Bolaños “Chesperito”; acclaimed actress Florinda Gomez Meza; national sports commentator and host of Radio Cadena Univision’s sports program “Lucre por el Futbol,” Jorge Ramos and popular radio personality Carina, Su Mejor Amiga.

According to keynote speaker Julie Stav, “when it comes to reaching Hispanics on financial matters, there are key elements that advertisers must keep in mind. First of all, “Hispanics are ethnicity, not a race, and not a melting pot of Spanish-speaking people but a vegetable soup where every ingredient views for a place of honor on the plate. Hispanics are happy to invest in America by owning a piece of the American Dream, and financial institutions can play a provocative role in helping us move to the next stage if they first understand our financial evolution.

“Tu Casa y Tu Dinero” is sponsored by State Farm Insurance, Harris Bank, H&R Block, and Moda Windows.
