Univision Radio’s Que Buena 105.1FM, Univision Television and Saturn Unite to Educate Community on the Use of Child Safety Seats

Chicago, IL -- Univision Radio’s Que Buena 105.FM, Univision television, and Saturn team up to educate the community on the importance of child safety. Both companies have a commitment to putting the people they serve first and giving back to their communities. Therefore, it is only natural that they should join forces to address an issue that is of outmost importance to families and lawmakers alike – child safety seats.

The majority of parents realizes that the proper use of car safety seats is the best way to protect children while driving. However, studies show that about 85% of children are improperly placed in their car seats, which can lead to serious and life- threatening situations. As a result of this staggering statistic, Que Buena, Univision television, and Saturn have decided to reach out to the public to inform and educate parents and other community members. Certified instructors will visit grocery stores in key Hispanic neighborhoods in the city and suburbs in order to demonstrate the correct way to fasten children into car seats. In addition, parents will receive new child safety seats for use in their own cars.

“The response  to this child safety campaign has been incredible,” commented Que Buena’s popular afternoon personality Lucy “Luchi-Luchi” Herrera. “People are truly interested in keeping their children safe. It is incredible to see how many concerned mothers and fathers came to the event locations – with children in their arms – since they did not yet own a car safety seat. There is an obvious need for this type of information and demonstration in our community, and I am very proud to be  a part of this joint venture between our station and Saturn.”

These child safety events will continue through the month of August and will take place in the suburbs of North Aurora, Naperville, Gurnee, East Dundee and Oak Lawn.
