Univision Radio Announces its’ 10th Annual Fiestas Patrias Festival Celebrating Mexican Independence

Las Vegas, NV -- Univision Radio stations KISF La Nueva 103.5 FM, KQMR La Kalle 99.3 FM and KLSQ Recuerdo 870 AM today announced that this year’s 10th annual “Fiestas Patrias” festival will take place at Sunset Park (Eastern and Sunset) on Sunday September 18th, 2005.  The food and music festival will celebrate Mexican Independence Day as well as the independence days of other Latin American countries.  The festival is renowned as Las Vegas’ largest cultural event filled with international folklore exhibits, food, and live music. The event is produced with the help of experienced event specialists, Meehan and Associates, in conjunction with the Clark County Parks & Community Services.  Event sponsors include Miller Lite’s La Maquina Musical, Station Casinos, American Family Insurance and others.  Doors will open at 11:00AM and will close at 7:00PM each day.  Tickets are $8 for adults and children under 12 years will receive free admission. 

Along with the excitement of featured international, award winning artists, a Children’s Fun Zone and stage will spotlight performances by local dance and musical groups.  Plus, interactive children’s activities like face painters, arts and crafts, jumpers, balloonists, children’s characters, clowns and stilt walkers will entertain the entire family.  Furthermore, several local non-profit organizations such as Art for Everyone, Nevada Association of Latin Americans (NALA), Southern Nevada AHEC, Sunrise Children’s Hospital’s PERK program, Nevada Health Centers, CCHD’s Covering Kids and more will be present to provide important community and health information to attendees.
