Univision Names John De Simone Vice-President, General Sales Manager, WXTV/New York
Los Angeles, CA -- Univision Communications Inc. (NYSE:UVN), the nation’s leading Spanish-language media company, announced today that John DeSimone has been named Vice President, General Sales Manager for its station WXTV/New York.
“With a broadcast career spanning more than 25 years, John’s rich experience and media relationships have been critical elements in his capacity at Univision and I am eager for him to continue to utilize these assets in his new role,” said Ramon Pineda, Vice President and General Manager - WXTV. “His wealth of talent, as well as proven sales-leadership and management experience will continue to benefit our clients and agencies in their initiatives to reach the growing US Hispanic community through Spanish-language television.”
For the past year DeSimone served as Vice President/National Sales, New York where he led and co-managed the New York Spot Team alongside Frank Donaldson, also Vice President/National Sales. Prior to that he worked for two years in Business Development on the New York Sales Team for the Univision Television Group and performed the same job for WNJU Telemundo 47 in New York during the year prior. DeSimone worked at WNYW/FOX 5 in New York as Local Sales Manager, and worked for ABC-TV Spot Sales, Katz and other major broadcast TV rep firms.
DeSimone lives in Stamford, Ct with his wife Joanne and their two children, Chelsea and Justin.
