Juanes, Laura Pausini, RBD, Wisin y Yandel, Luis Fonsi, Beto y sus Canarios, Intocable and Ana Barbara to Perform at 2006 “Premio lo Nuestro” Latin Music Awards
Miami, FL -- For the 18th consecutive year, the biggest names in Latin music will be performing live on Univision’s “Premio Lo Nuestro a la Música Latina” (Lo Nuestro Latin Music Awards). The most popular Latin music awards show on television will be broadcast live from Miami’s American Airlines Arena on this country’s leading Spanish-language television network on Thursday, February 23, beginning at 8 pm ET (7 pm Central).
Paying homage to the many genres of today’s Latin music scene, “Premio Lo Nuestro” will include appearances by Colombian singer/songwriter Juanes, international recording artists Laura Pausini and super-group RBD, red-hot Reggaetón urban artists Wisin y Yandel, Puerto Rican Pop star Luis Fonsi, and one of Mexico’s most popular performers today, Ana Bárbara. Also performing live will be Regional Mexican group Beto y Sus Canarios and the popular Norteño group Intocable, among many others. “Premio Lo Nuestro,” which last year reached an audience of over 10 million Latin music fans, bestows awards annually to the winners from the 5 most popular Latin music genres - Pop, Tropical, Regional Mexican, Rock and Urban - and Video of the Year. Nominees were selected from charts compiled by the prominent recording industry trade magazine Radio & Records®. Latin music fans will determine this year’s “Premio Lo Nuestro” winners by logging onto www.univision.com (Uniclave: Premio) to vote for their favorite artists in all categories.
