U.S.A. Vs. Mexico Red Hot Rivalry To Play Out In Highly Anticipated Match-Up Wednesday, February 7 On Univision

Miami, FL -- WHAT: Univision provides live, exclusive Spanish-language coverage as the U.S.A. and Mexico national teams come together in Glendale, Arizona for one of the sports world’s most hotly contested rivalries dating back over 70 years.

WHEN: Wednesday, February 7, 2007 9:00 pm ET/8:00 pm CT/6:00 pm PT

WHERE: Univision Television Network

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Mexico has yet to beat the U.S. playing in this country since before 2000 and has not been allowed to score a single goal in the last seven games, setting the stage for an emotional battle of epic proportions. Coached by Mexico’s most famous and greatest former soccer player, Hugo Sánchez, the team is replete with some of the country’s most experienced and talented players, featuring 14 from last year’s heralded World Cup team including Rafael Marquez, superstar defender for what many consider to be the best club team in the world today, Barcelona. Sánchez sees this as an opportunity to end the recent U.S. domination of this classic rivalry. The U.S. team, led by interim coach Bob Bradley, is determined to continue its seven game unbeaten streak. Leading that charge is sure to be the remarkably talented team captain Landon Donovan, star forward for the Los Angeles Galaxy MLS team, who in spite of being only 24 years of age has scored an astonishing 26 goals in 85 games playing for the U.S. national team.
