Mexican actress Adela Noriega provides a top-notch performance as the young and beautiful Cristina Miranda, an aspiring model who falls in love with a wealthy playboy named Victor Manuel, portrayed by René Strickler. They are joined by a stellar cast of actors that include Andrés García, Helena Rojo, Diana Bracho, Enrique Rocha, Cynthia Klitbo, César Evora, Adriana Nieto, and Sabine Moussier.
The Storyline
The story begins at the home of Ana Joaquina (Diana Bracho), a religious fanatic whose only wish is for her son to join the seminary and become a priest. This dream is threatened, however, when she discovers that her beautiful young servant, Luciana, is pregnant and that her son, Juan (César Evora), is the father. Determined not to let this stand in her way, Ana Joaquina dismisses the girl, leaving her destitute. Luciana gives birth to a daughter and, in a moment of despair, abandons the baby.
Years go by and Luciana (Helena Rojo) makes a name for herself as a successful fashion designer. She marries Andrés (Andrés García), a handsome television actor, who has a son named Victor Manuel (René Strickler). Haunted by doubts about what became of her daughter, Luciana sets out to find her and seeks the assistance of the girl’s father, Juan, who is now a priest.
As fate would have it, Luciana and Juan begin their search for their daughter, named Cristina, at the same time that she leaves the convent where she was raised. Cristina (Adela Noriega) has become a beautiful, sensitive young woman who is interested in pursuing a career in modeling. She obtains a job at a top fashion company, which, unbeknownst to her, is owned by her mother. This is where she meets Luciana’s stepson, Victor Manuel, and the two fall deeply in love. Luciana disapproves of the relationship but to her dismay her efforts to keep the couple apart are unsuccessful. Unaware of Cristina’s true identity, Luciana makes the fatal mistake of firing her. She is also ignorant of the fact that Cristina is pregnant. The tables have turned; now it is Luciana’s own daughter who is the young mother in need of help and Luciana who has rejected her. Will history repeat itself? What will become of Cristina and her child? Will she share her mother’s fate, or will she be able to raise her child and find happiness with the man she loves?
