Laura Pausini to Perform Live on Univision’s “Premios Juventud”
Eternally young “Chespirito” also to be honored with special “Ídolo de Generaciones” Award
Miami, FL -- Univision announced today that international recording star Laura Pausini will appear for a rare live performance on its highly anticipated second edition of the “Premios Juventud” youth awards September 22, 2005.
Flying in from Europe exclusively for her performance to be broadcast live from the University of Miami, Pausini was recently nominated for this year’s Latin GRAMMY Awards in the Best Female Pop Vocal Album category. One of Latin music’s most popular artists and one of the very few to have received a prestigious Diamond Disc for having sold over 20 million albums worldwide, her hit single “Víveme” is the theme song for the current Univision blockbuster novela “La Madrastra.” She joins an all-star lineup of performers that includes Chayanne, Frankie J, RBD, Wisin Y Yandel, La 5ta Estación, Banda El Recodo, Intocable, Aventura, Jaguares, Luis Fonsi and Olga Tañon and Christian Castro.
And what promises to be an emotional high-point of the energy-filled 3 hour spectacular, Roberto Gómez Bolaños, better known to his millions of fans of all ages as “Chespirito,” will be honored with the “Ídolo de Generaciones” special award.
