Univision’s Jorge Ramos Is First American Network TV Evening News Anchor To Broadcast Live From Middle East In Iraq War

Miami, FL -- Jorge Ramos, co-anchor of America’s top-rated Spanish-language national evening newscast, “Noticiero Univision,” on Sunday, March 23, became the first American evening network TV news anchor to broadcast live comprehensive coverage of the war against Iraq from a location in the Middle East. 

Ramos, who anchored “Noticiero Univision” from Doha, Qatar on Sunday before shifting his base of operations to Kuwait City yesterday, will continue to anchor the news from the war zone and file special reports as needed throughout the day for the duration of hostilities.  He joins Univision’s news correspondent, Victor Hugo Saavedra, who has been covering the war from Kuwait City since its start on Wednesday, March 19.

Seen daily at 6:30 pm ET/PT (5:30 pm Central and Mountain Time) on the Univision Television Network, the half-hour “Noticiero Univision” is America’s most-watched Spanish-language evening TV newscast.

The nation's top Spanish-language TV network, Univision offers extended coverage in Spanish for Hispanic U.S. TV viewers from Baghdad, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait as well as from the U.S., where ‘Noticiero Univision’ correspondents cover the domestic effects of the war.
