WLTV-23 is the Most Watched Station in the Miami DMA

Miami, FL -- May 25, 2006 – In the May 2006 sweep period, Univision-owned station WLTV-23 is once again South Florida’s leading station. WLTV-23 ranked as the number one station in any language in total day, primetime and early fringe, and had the highest rated local newscast at 6pm and 11pm during the survey period of April 27-May 24, according to the Nielsen Station Index (NSI).  Highlights include:

• From sign-on to sign-off (Monday-Sunday/6am-2am), WLTV-23 reigns as the top ranked station, averaging a 3.9 Household rating with a 9 share. WLTV-23 out-performed the second ranked station-the FOX affiliate WSVN- by 18%.

• Novelas such as “Peregrina” and “La Fea Màs Bella” (the Prettiest Ugly Girl), and the hit reality show “Bailando por un Sueño (Dancing for a Dream)- led WLTV-23 to the #1 spot in primetime (Monday-Saturday/8pm-11pm and Sunday/7pm-11pm), averaging over 103,000 Households nightly. The closest competitor WSVN, a FOX affiliate, averaged 9,000 fewer homes than WLTV-23.

• WLTV-23 continues to set the standard for excellence for local newscasts. At 6pm, “Noticias 23” is the #1 watched news program with a 6.7 NSI rating and an 11 share.  “Noticias 23” (Monday-Sunday /11pm-1130pm) is the top rated late local news in the market, garnering a 6.3 NSI Household rating.

• WLTV-23 led the market in early fringe programming at 5pm with “Primer Impacto” (First Impact) averaging a 5.8 NSI Household rating. The closest competitor, WSVN, averaged 14,000 fewer homes.
