WQBA 1140 AM Celebrates 40 Years of Service to Hispanics in Miami
RadioCadena Univision’s Historic WQBA is One of the Oldest Spanish-Language Radio Stations in The U.S.
Miami, FL -- MAY 26, 2006 – Univision Radio, the leading Spanish-language radio group in the United States, will celebrate the 40th anniversary of WQBA 1140-AM, part of the Univision Radio Network, RadioCadena Univision, on May 31st, 2006.
WQBA is the longest-running Spanish-language news/talk/sports format station in Miami. For four decades, WQBA has offered the best and most complete news coverage and commentaries of the issues and events affecting South Florida including the Mariel exodus, Miami Riots, Hurricane Andrew, 911, Latin American politics as well as local and national elections.
Along with its strong commitment to journalistic excellence, WQBA has been a staunch supporter of the community. Charitable and cultural organizations have always found a home on WQBA. Thirty-seven years ago, WQBA was the creator of the famous Three Kings Day Parade. This event started as a way to preserve one of Latin America’s most beloved traditions.
