Univision Talent in Paterson, NJ Dominican Parade and Washington Heights (NY) Children’s Health Festival September 10
New York, NY -- A bevy of Univision personalities will appear on Sunday, September 10 in the Dominican Festival and Parade of New Jersey and in the Children’s Health Festival in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan.
The Dominican Festival and Parade of New Jersey will feature Dominican native Merijoel Duran, anchor of “Noticias Univision 41 Al Despertar” (Univision 41 News at Dawn) seen weekdays 7 am to 9 am, as representative of “Our (Dominican) Pride” and her colleague, Jack Rico, the program’s weatherman as the parade’s “Colombian Godfather.” Anais Martinez, Univision Music recording artist who won the inaugural “Objetivo Fama” (Objective Fame) competition seen on TeleFutura WFUT-TV 68 and WFTY-TV 67 locally, is the Festival’s Queen and will be the festival’s opening act. “El Gordo y La Flaca” (The Scoop and the Skinny) personality Gelena Solano will be the parade’s “Duartiana Godmother.” The honorary title is given in memory of Juan Pablo Durate, a founder of the Dominican Republic. “El Gordo y La Flaca” is seen weekdays 4 pm to 5 pm on Univision 41 (WXTV). The parade will begin at noon at 33rd Street and Park Avenue in Paterson and end at Market Street and Memorial Drive outside Paterson City Hall. The Children’s Health Festival of Washington Heights takes place from 11 am to 6 pm on St. Nicholas Avenue in Manhattan between 181 Street and 191 Street. “Noticias Univision 41” (Univision 41 News) weekday weather reporter Nilda Rosario (seen at 6 pm and 11 pm) and senior reporter Myriam Ayala will greet the public at this free event and encourage people to learn more about their children’s health. They will be accompanied by Los Solecitos (the Little Suns), costumed figures of the animated characters on some Univision 41 weather reports who have been amazingly popular with children.
