Univision 41, Ford and Scholastic Books Sponsor “Todos a Leer” Event, Featuring a Special Day of Reading at the Amber Charter School
New York, NY -- Following up on the resounding success of their previous “Todos a Leer” (Let’s All Read) events, Univision 41 (WXTV), Ford, and Scholastic Books will present the next event in their series of Read Aloud Days on Wednesday, March 23rd from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at The Amber Charter School, 220 East 106th Street, NYC. During the program, Univision 41, 92.7 Latino Mix 105.9 FM and Radio WADO on-air personalities, along with community leaders, education professionals, and local authors will read books aloud to students in different classrooms, followed by a discussion on the books’ content.
As with each previous “Todos a Leer” event, the March 23rd presentation will include a variety of components to promote and educate parents and students on the importance of reading and education and to urge parents to read to their children regularly at home. Univision 41 and Ford will display banners at the school; and Scholastics Books also will distribute free books to approximately 500 children. The Amber Charter School is also organizing a variety of events surrounding “Todos a Leer,” including a reading contest for students. A total of three gift certificates will be awarded to the first, second and third place contest winners. Following the event, the school will submit a written and illustrated report about the program, and in exchange will receive a Dell computer valued at $500.
