New York, NY -- April 5, 2006 – Univision, the nation’s premier Spanish-language TV network, scored a one-two ratings punch in Gotham on the eve of the 25th anniversary celebration of Maria Elena Salinas as an evening news anchor.  Yesterday, Tuesday, April 4, 2006, the 6 pm local news and the 6:30 pm network news on Univision’s New York TV station, Univision 41 (WXTV) were number one in their respective time periods among the key audience group, adults aged 18 to 49 years old.

Tuesday night, Univision 41’s local news, “Noticias Univision 41,” with anchors Rafael Pineda and Denisse Oller was watched by 159,000 New York area adults aged 18 to 49,  according to Nielsen Station Index (NSI) Local People Meter (LPM) overnight ratings.  WABC-TV’s “Eyewitness News” placed second with 148,000 viewers aged 18 to 49 from 6 pm to 6:30 pm.
