Viva 102.9 and La Nueva 106.5 Present the 7th Annual 16 de Septiembre Celebration “El Festival del Grito”
Celebration of Mexican Independence Day to Feature Musical Performances from Top Hispanic Artists
San Diego, CA -- Viva 102.9 FM and La Nueva 106.5 FM are proud to announce the 7th annual 16 de Septiembre festival “El Festival del Grito,” in celebration of Mexican Independence Day, scheduled for Sunday, September 11th at the Coors Amphitheatre in Chula Vista.
“El Festival del Grito,” a free day-long festivity founded in 1999, has featured some of the most popular acts in Spanish Contemporary Pop and Regional Mexican music, such as Los Tucanes de Tijuana, Los Ángeles de Charly, Paquita la del Barrio, Julieta Venegas, Frankie J. and Myriam.
The line-up for this year’s event will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
“Year after year, La Nueva 106.5 FM has helped organize this free family event that helps to keep our Mexican traditions and customs alive. It’s also a tremendous opportunity to bring some of the most exciting and popular Regional Mexican performers to our city. We’re very excited about the caliber of talent we’ll be presenting this year,” said KLNV-FM Program Director José Gadea.
VIVA 102.9 KLQV-FM Program Director Josué Villa says the event helps to showcase the extensive talent active in Contemporary Pop today: “El Festival del Grito is a chance to highlight some of the top performers that make up the Spanish Pop world.
This music has influences from all corners of the globe, as well as conventional Mexican music, Rap, Hip-Hop and Dance. This year, we’ll continue the tradition of bringing innovative performers to the stage. Stay tuned.”
