Bright House Networks Launches Galavisión in Tampa Bay Area

Galavisión Takes Hit Music Show “Acceso Máximo” on the Road to Tampa on November

Tampa, FL -- Galavisión, the nation’s #1 Spanish-language cable network, and Bright House Networks jointly announced today that Galavisión is now available to Tampa Bay area customers on Bright House Networks Digital Cable Channel 79. In attendance at the announcement were Carlos Calderón, host of Galavisión’s hit-interactive music show “Acceso Máximo” (All Access); Kevin Hyman, Bright House Networks Division President; and Iris Gonzalez, Multicultural Community Relations Manager, Bright House Networks.

Galavisión, part of Univision Communications Inc (NYSE: UVN), is the most widely distributed Spanish-language cable network in the United States, available to more than seven million Hispanic subscribers. For the fifth consecutive year, Galavisión has broken its own viewership records delivering the largest Hispanic audience in all of cable.

“Bright House Networks is committed to bringing the best programming available for our Hispanic viewers throughout the Tampa Bay area,” said Kevin Hyman, President of Bright House Networks Tampa Bay Division. “We are proud to bring Galavisión and its wide variety of programming, including the new interactive experience “Acceso Máximo,” to our customers.”

“We are excited to partner with Bright House Networks to bring Galavisión, Hispanic America’s favorite cable destination, to the Tampa Bay area,” said Joanne Lynch, Galavisión Senior Vice President and General Manager. “I am also thrilled to announce that for the first time ever we will bring ‘Acceso Máximo,’ one of Galavisión’s most popular shows, live to Tampa on November 17th.”

Calderón, one of America’s favorite young hosts, added: “I can’t wait to make an even closer connection with Tampa Bay fans when ‘Acceso Máximo’ comes live to Tampa. It’s going to be an exciting show.”

“Acceso Máximo” is a groundbreaking all access, live show to which viewers send text messages and vote online for their favorite music videos. Each episode features a celebrity guest or co-host. Recent guests include multiplatinum Latin GRAMMY® nominated artist for Spanish pop, grupero and regional Mexican music, Alondra; popular Mexican rock and pop singer Gloria Trevi; and the “Queen of Reggaetón,” Ivy Queen.

At the beginning of each show, Calderón introduces two videos for “Agarrón de Videos” (Battle of the Videos) that will battle for the viewers’ choice throughout the show. Calderón’s witty and playful personality sets the tone during the humorous and revealing “Nota Loca” segment in which he conducts unconventional interviews with different artists. Calderón also presents “Rolon de Calderón” (Carlos’ Pick), “Video Máximo” (Video of the Week), and the viewers’ choice video of the week, which fans vote for at Univision.com. The winner is presented at the end of each program.

“Acceso Máximo” airs on Friday’s from 9:00 – 10:00 p.m. on Galavisión (Channel 79 in the Tampa Bay area).
