Latin Hip Hop Heavy Weight Jae-P Strikes Knock Out with a Major Hit on Popular Boxing Video Game
Latin Hip Hop teen sensation lands deal on electronic arts’ music soundtrack
Woodland Hills, CA -- Jae-P, Latin hip hop’s hottest teen act, recently announced that his smash hit “Ni De Aqui Ni De Alla,” [Neither From Here Nor There] from his 2003 debut album with same title, is part of the latest collection of songs that comprise Electronic Arts Trax soundtrack for boxing video game Fight Night Round 2.
Nominated for a 2005 Latin Billboard Music Award for Best Latin Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year for “Esperanza,” his sophomore effort with Univision Records, Jae-P is one of Latin hip hop’s hottest acts and undoubtedly a leading artist in the “Hip Hop En Español” music movement.
“Ni De Aqui Ni De Alla” was nominated for two Latin Billboard music awards in 2004 and is the hit that broke Jae-P into the Latin music scene in 2003. With this track, Jae-P becomes part of the popular boxing video game Fight Night Round 2, the sequel to Fight Night 2004, which will be released on the Xbox, PS2, and GameCube platforms on March 28.
Becoming part of the boxing game's soundtrack is a major and unprecedented feat for Jae-P. In this collection he joins the ranks of classic rappers The Geto Boys, Fabolous, Pharell, and Cuban-American sensation Pitbull.
“This is like a dream come true. I can’t believe my music is part of this cool soundtrack. I am proud of my music and very excited to know that people outside of Latin music will get a chance to hear some off-the-hook Spanish hip hop,” stated Jae-P.
“Ni De Aqui Ni De Alla” is a mid-tempo hip hop track that revolves around the innate immigrant feeling of not belonging, of not being a part of, and of not being accepted by the adopted country or the country left behind. The album went on to sell over 150,000 units with limited or zero radio support and received a Latin Gold Album certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
His follow up album “Esperanza” [Hope] has also been certified Latin Gold by the RIAA and has sold well over 100,000 units in the United States.
With only two albums and 20 years of age, Jae-P has managed to distinguish and set himself apart from the rest of the artists in this genre proving once again his leading role in the world of Latin hip hop.
