Univision Music Group Continues to Top Latin Music Sales Chart for Fourth Consecutive Week

According to Nielsen SoundScan Report, Leading Latin Music Label Reached a Record 46% of All Latin Unit Sales in U.S. and Puerto Rico


Woodland Hills, CA -- Univision Music Group, the country’s leading Latin music label holds the top five positions of the top ten list of most Latin albums sold in the U.S. and Puerto Rico according to Nielsen SoundScan’s latest Report.

For the week ending April 27, 2003, the compilation album 20 Inolvidables from Los Bukis and Los Temerarios has remained at the #1 position followed closely by Y Tenerte Otra Vez (And To Have You Again) in #2, Pepe Aguilar’s debut album under Univision Records, which also entered Billboard’s Top 200 chart upon release.  Conjunto Primavera’s Nuestra Historia has a stronghold on #4 followed by Bronco’s 30 Inolvidables at #5.  Joining the list for the first time this period is Mojado’s 30 Inolvidables, which jumped from #49 to #7.

According to SoundScan, Univision Records had 11 albums, Fonovisa Records continued to dominate the charts with 19 and Disa Records moved up with 11 albums total, increasing the company’s sum to an impressive 41 albums on the top 100 selling Latin albums chart.

Undoubtedly, Univision Music Group has established itself as one of the most important Latin music companies in the country, keeping a steady presence on the Nielsen SoundScan charts with a strong hold of 41 albums in the top 100, reflecting 46% of all Latin albums sold in the U.S. and Puerto Rico for the week ending April 27, 2003.
