Woodland Hills, CA -- Issac Delgado, one of the most relevant musicians of the last few decades in Cuba, opted to take the reins of his career and make his own artistic decisions and established residence, along with part of his family, in the United States. Delgado has already started to work recording his first album for La Calle Records, the label of the Univision Music Group.
With more than ten albums to his credit, several GRAMMY® nominations and successful appearances at the Central Park Summerstage and Madison Square Garden in New York; the Wolf Trap Jazz and Blues in Washington, D.C.; the North Sea Jazz Festival in the Netherlands, and in the most important festivals in Canada, among others, Delgado has also conducted numerous tours throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America, capturing the attention of audiences who recognize him as one of the most representative exponents of authentic Cuban music.
“I wish to rebuild my life looking for new horizons, making the music which identifies me and imparting the best of my artistic knowledge to my new endeavors,” said the Cuban singer.
After receiving several offers from various companies in the music industry, Issac Delgado, represented, in the United States and world-wide by the William Morris Agency, decided to sign an exclusive contract with the umbrella-label for such distinguished music icons as Olga Tañón, Tito Nieves, Ismael Miranda, Andy Montañez, India, Xtreme, Marlon and Frankie Negrón, among others.
“It's an honor to have Issac as part of our roster”, said George Zamora, Vice-president and General Manager of La Calle Records. “His track record, as well as his artistic persona, honors our roster of interpreters".
For his part, Delgado considers that the mere presence of Sergio George in La Calle Records was a determining factor in his final choice of labels. The six-time GRAMMY ® winner was equally pleased: “It is a pleasure to work with this great singer,” said the producer of the greatest hits in the genre of Tropical Music and Vice-president and A & R of La Calle Records. “Right now we’re in the process of recording and expect the album to be in the stands in the spring,” he announced. “I can tell you that the first promotional cut will be present it before the media within the next three weeks,” he concluded.
Once he is done recording, Issac Delgado will embark on an international tour which will start in the United States and keep him playing on the most important world stages for the remainder of the year.
