Delivered More Adults 18-34 Regardless of Language


Chicago, IL -- Univision Chicago’s coverage of the 2006 World Cup match between Mexico and Angola on Friday, June 16th from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm achieved a 2.5 rating among Adults 18-34 according to the Chicago Nielsen Station Index, making it the highest rated program throughout the day, regardless of language.  The Mexico versus Angola match delivered more Adults 18-34, than WMAQ/NBC’s U.S. Open Golf at 2 pm and the Chicago Cubs vs. Detroit Tigers Baseball on WGN at 1:15 pm combined (1.7 rating), as well as more Adults 18-34 than WLS/ABC’s 20/20 at 9 pm (1.4 rating), WMAQ/NBC’s Dateline at 7 pm (1.1 rating) or WPWR/UPN’s WWE Smackdown at 7 pm (1.4 rating). 

On Sunday, June 18th Univision Chicago’s World Cup match between Brazil and Australia from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm was the #1 rated sporting event of the day between 7:30 am and 6:00 pm among Adults 18-49 with a 2.9 rating, delivering more Adults 18-49 than WLS/ABC’s coverage of the same World Cup match (2.0).

According to the Chicago Nielsen Hispanic Station Index, TeleFutura Chicago’s World Cup Match of the Day between Mexico and Angola on Friday, June 16th from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm delivered more Hispanic Adults 18-49 (1.8 rating) than WSNS/Telemundo’s primetime novelas at 7 pm (1.0 rating) and 8 pm (1.4 rating).
