Univision Nombra a Andrew Hobson Director de Finanzas

Los Angeles, CA -- Univision Communications Inc. (NYSE: UVN) today announced that Andrew W. Hobson, who currently serves as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Strategic Officer, has been named to the additional position of Chief Financial Officer.  As CFO, Hobson replaces Jeffrey Hinson, who has resigned to pursue other interests in Dallas where he and his family reside.  Hinson will be available to the Company through the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition.  Hobson, who is based in Los Angeles, will continue to report to A. Jerrold Perenchio, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

“Univision is fortunate to have a financial executive of Andy’s caliber, and I am delighted that he will be assuming the Chief Financial Officer role as we streamline our financial function,” said Perenchio.  “In 13 years with the Company, Andy has been an outstanding leader with unmatched financial expertise, knowledge of the media business and strategic vision.  With a broad understanding of the industry and in-depth knowledge of Univision, Andy is uniquely qualified to lead our efforts as we work to capitalize on the tremendous opportunities before us and reap benefits for our shareholders, audience and advertisers.  I look forward to his continuing contributions to our organization in this new role.”

“I look forward to an expanded role leading Univision’s financial operations,” said Hobson. “Working with Jerry Perenchio and the entire Univision management team for the last 13 years has been my distinct pleasure.  I am very proud of Univision’s exceptional growth to date and am focused on helping the Company realize its still-enormous potential for the future.”

Perenchio continued, “Jeff Hinson has served Univision, and before that Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation, with great distinction. He made significant, meaningful contributions to both companies, including his role as a central player in the successful integration of Univision Radio. We thank Jeff for his diligence and dedication to Univision, and wish him well in his future endeavors.”

Hinson commented, “I want to thank Jerry Perenchio for the opportunity to serve as Chief Financial Officer of Univision. I have enjoyed the challenge of guiding the Company’s financial activities during a period of great change, from assisting with the integration of Hispanic Broadcasting to meeting compliance demands associated with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Univision has been fortunate to have on staff two individuals capable of handling the duties of a Chief Financial Officer.  Andy Hobson inherits a capable group of managers responsible for financial reporting and internal controls.  I look forward to helping executive management during the transition period.”

Hobson has been Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Strategic Officer of Univision.  Previously, he had been an Executive Vice President of Univision since 1993.  From 1990 through 1993, he was a Principal at Chartwell Partners.  Prior to joining Chartwell, Mr. Hobson was a Vice President in the investment banking group of Bankers Trust Co. from 1984 to 1990.  Mr. Hobson is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.
