Presentadores de Univision 41 Participan en el Desfile de la Independencia Dominicana

“Magic Juan” Performs on Univision Float


New York, NY -- Univision 41 (WXTV), New York’s premier Spanish-language TV station salutes the area’s 750,000 persons of Dominican descent on Sunday, August 13, at the Dominican Parade of New York.  The parade, which begins at noon, moves along Avenue of the Americas (6th Ave.) from West 36 Street to Central Park South in Manhattan in celebration of the independence of the Dominican Republic.

Noticias Univision 41 anchors Denisse Oller, Antonio Martinez, and Merijoel Duran will take part in the parade.  Mutli-Platinum recording artist “Magic Juan” (John Wilson), born in Washington Heights and raised in Teaneck, NJ, and now known to fans as “El Rey de Santo Domingo” (The Dominican King), will perform many of his hit songs on the Univision float.

Oller (seen weekdays at 6 pm and 11 pm with Rafael Pineda on “Noticias Univision 41”) is the parade’s “International Godmother.”  Martinez (seen weekends as anchor of “Noticias Univision 41 at 6 pm and 11 pm) is the parade’s “International Godfather.”  Dominican-born Duran, who counts presidents of the Dominican Republic among her interview subjects, represents “Dominican Pride” in the United States.
