Univision 41-WXTV Continúa su Exitosa Campaña "Salud es Vida...¡Entérate!' Con un Especial Sobre la Salud de los Niños

New York, NY -- As part of Univision’s Peabody award winning health campaign, Salud es Vida…Entérate! (Lead a Healthy Life…Get the Facts!), Univision 41 (WXTV) will air a half-hour special on the importance of children’s health. Hosted by renowned actress and television personality, Gaby Rivero, the special “Los Niños y su Salud” (Our Children and Their Health) will air Saturday, September 24 at 10 a.m. The special program is designed to inform and educate parents and caregivers on raising awareness about health concerns in their children, engage them in healthy activities and lifestyles and learn essential emergency treatments and accident prevention techniques.

“Los Niños y su Salud” will cover topics including the importance of physical activities and a healthy diet, physical conditions that may put the health of Latino children at risk and   mental health issues.  One health factor on the rise within our community is childhood obesity. According to a report published by the Federal Interagency Forum on Child and Family Statistics, 16% of children in the United States are overweight. The same study reveals that these children are at a higher risk of developing serious medical conditions, such as cardiovascular disease and Type II Diabetes.
