VIVA 102.9 y La Nueva 106.5 Transmitirán la Séptima Celebración Anual del 'Cinco de Mayo' -'La Fiesta del Pueblo'
Free family event to feature performances by Jaguares, La 5a Estación, many more
San Diego, CA -- Univision Radio’s Viva 102.9 FM and La Nueva 106.5 FM today announced that the 7th Annual Cinco de Mayo celebration “La Fiesta del Pueblo,” will take place on Sunday, May 1st at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.
The free day-long festivity, “La Fiesta del Pueblo,” which brings together the region’s Hispanic community for a day of fun and celebration, has been a San Diego tradition since its inception in 1999. This year’s lineup boasts some of the most popular artists in the worlds of Latin Pop and Regional Mexican music.
Headlining the event on behalf of VIVA 102.9 FM will be Jaguares, the beloved leaders of the Rock En Español movement. Jaguares, which rose from the ashes of the seminal rock group Caifanes, has been nominated for various Latin GRAMMY awards and has inspired legions of bands throughout the years.
“Every artist we play on VIVA 102.9 has been influenced in one way or another by Jaguares. We’re eagerly anticipating the moment when the group hits the stage to deliver the best rock performance that the Del Mar Fairgrounds have ever seen,” said KLQV Program Director Josué Villa.
Also scheduled to perform VIVA 102.9 are: La Quinta Estación, REIK, Betzaida, Alih Jey and Los Ingratos.
