New Spanish-language station KFSF TeleFutura 66 is also beating the cable sports networks with its delayed broadcasts


San Francisco, CA -- Despite the middle-of-the-night broadcasts for its World Cup soccer coverage, Spanish-language station KDTV Univision 14 is averaging an impressive 32,000 Bay Area households for its live tournament coverage, an audience 86% greater than ESPN2’s live coverage for the same first fourteen matches.   In addition, KFSF TeleFutura 66, which launched as recently as January of this year, is also exceeding ESPN2’s average household audience delivery by 14% with its delayed game schedule.

The Mexico vs Croatia match, which aired Sunday, June 3 from 11:15pm to 1:30am, delivered KDTV’s biggest audience of the tournament with a 3.1 household rating (or 75,000 + households), according to the Nielsen Station Index overnights.  With an estimated population of 800,000 Mexicans in the Bay Area, KDTV is expecting a huge fan base to tune in again for the upcoming Mexico vs. Ecuador match, which airs live Saturday, June 8 from 11:15pm to 1:30am.
