KDTV Bate Récords de Audiencia con el Tributo-Concierto a Selena
San Francisco, CA -- KDTV Univision 14, the Bay Area’s leading Spanish-language TV station, is celebrating numerous rating successes for its telecast of a star-studded memorial concert honoring the late Tejano music queen, Selena, last Thursday, April 7, 2005 from 8pm to 11:15pm. According to the Nielsen Station Index (NSI), “Selena… ˇVive!” averaged KDTV’s second highest-ever household rating with a 4.1, which is equivalent to 97,000 Bay Area TV households. Other ratings highlights include:
· On Thursday, April 7, 2005, “Selena… ˇVive!” was the highest rated program all day among Men 18-34 and the second highest-rated program all day among Women 18-34.
· In the 9-10pm time period, “Selena… ˇVive!” averaged a greater Adult 18-34 audience than “The Apprentice” on KNTV/NBC and “CSI” on KPIX/CBS.
· “Selena… ˇVive!” also averaged more Adult 18-34 than other leading Thursday primetime programming, including “Survivor: Palau” and “Without a Trace” on KPIX/CBS and “Joey,” “Will & Grace” and “E.R.” on KNTV/NBC.
· In the 10-11pm time period, “Selena… ˇVive!” averaged greater audience in the coveted Adult 25-54 demographic than KTVU’s “10 o’Clock News” and “Without A Trace” on KPIX/CBS.
“Selena… ˇVive!,” produced by the Univision Network to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the legendary singer’s death, featured an all-star line-up of performers who paid tribute to Selena with renditions of her songs. Featured artists included Thalía, Alejandra Guzmán, Paulina Rubio, Gloria Estefan, Kumbia Kings, Los Dinos, Bobby Pulido, Montez de Durango, Ana Gabriel, Graciela Beltrán, Pepe Aguilar, Ana Bárbara, Soraya, Fey, Aleks Syntek and The Barrio Boyz.
